Introducing East Asia Access Consulting (Founded 1995):
Doing Business with the 'Inscrutable'- Are you sure you're up to the task?
The Confucian Century is now upon us. Since China's entry into the WTO, the world economy has rapidly gravitated towards the Middle Kingdom. However, with cultural values completely independent of the West, if not diametrically opposite to it, China represents an enormous challenge and enigma to Western business leaders seeking a market there.
To date, cultural briefing on China (and East Asia) has largely been confined to demographic, economic, marketing or risk analyses. There has hardly been any cultural briefing focused on the psychological/behavioural understanding of one's clients/customers/negotiators/ managers as individuals. This lack of psychological understanding of a culturally alien market such as China is the single most important reason of business failures in East Asia.

Why Is Understanding Confucian Thinking Critical to Business Success in Chinese Market?
To understand the Chinese or East Asian ways of thinking, it is essential to acquire a Confucian perspective, to see things from their point of view. Your business success depends critically on understanding and mastering such a perspective.

What Kind of Cultural Briefing Do You Need for Success in China?
As the pendulum of the world economy has now swung back to China, it is critical for Western business executives to catch up on their Chinese cultural literacy/understanding, the lack of which has been identified as the main reason for business failures in the region.
